- * Ribosomal protein S21e signature *
- ************************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:
-
- - Mammalian S21 [1].
- - Rice S21 [2].
- - Yeast S21 (Ys25) [3].
- - Schizosaccharomyces pombe S28 [4].
-
- These proteins have 82 to 87 amino acids. As a signature pattern, we selected
- a perfectly conserved nonapeptide in the N-terminal part of these proteins.
-
- -Consensus pattern: L-Y-V-P-R-K-C-S-A
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
- -Last update: June 1994 / First entry.
